Uco Valley is a producer of high-quality wines

Uco Valley is one of the world’s highest wine-growing regions, with over 80,000 hectares planted between 3,000 ft and 3,900 ft.

Wines from grapes grown at this altitude are said to be among the best that the Mendoza wine region offers.

Some say Valle de Uco is Argentina’s equivalent to California’s Napa Valley.

A large area, Uco Valley spans three different departments, each with variations in climate and soil.

The Malbec wine from grapes grown at high altitudes is succulent, expressive, and dense. And, the valley also produces some of the best Argentinian white wines, like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Located 88 km from Mendoza City, Valle de Uco has seen explosive growth in recent years.

The high-altitude wines, climate, and varied soil composition is producing a fresher wine style.

And there is currently a movement for Geographical Indication (GI) status for the wines produced within the valley.
